Adelaide Rose Anderson

Adelaide Rose Anderson, age 91, of Richland Center passed away on Tuesday morning, May 5, 2020, at her home in rural Richland Center. She spent her final days surrounded by loved ones at her side. Adelaide was born on May 23, 1928, daughter of William and Lillian (Weber) Poole of Cazenovia, WI. Adelaide and Wayne were married on April 25, 1950, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Richland Center. They purchased their current family farm that summer. Adelaide will forever be remembered for her love of family and her career as a Registered Nurse. She graduated from Saint Francis in La Crosse now known as Viterbo. She started nursing at Madison General and then the following year began her long career at the Richland Hospital. For a number of years she held the position of Director of Nursing. She retired from nursing in 1993. Having a large family was important to her after being raised with her only brother Jack. She had a love of music, enjoyed playing the flute in her high school band. She also loved to watch her grandchildren in band, choir, and many sporting events. Being involved in her grandchildren’s lives brought her great joy. Adelaide enjoyed traveling, especially her trip to Ireland where she was able to experience her Irish heritage. She also cherished reminiscing over family pictures and history. Adelaide lead by example, teaching her children and grandchildren the importance of a strong work ethic. Having a large garden was a part of her frugal way of life. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a deep commitment to her faith. Survivors include her 6 children, William (Karin) Anderson of Richland Center, WI, Collene Anderson (Paul Reilly) of Manitowoc, WI, Kathryn Anderson of Richland Center, WI, Gary Anderson (Tamerlie Tisdell) of Richland Center, WI, Renee Anderson (Dan Berkes) of Richland Center, WI, Jenifer (Mark) Laue of Richland Center, WI; 4 grandchildren Nick Cardin, Jessica Laue, Valerie Laue and Josie Laue; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Randy Anderson; a brother, Jack (Dorothy) Poole. A private family Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
