Caroline "Kelly" E. Mueller

Caroline “Kelly” E. Mueller, 89, of Richland Center passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Schmitt Woodland Hills. She was born on February 22, 1933 in Franklin Township, Sauk County, the daughter of Alois and Clara (Pulvermacher) Gruber. Caroline married Leslie “Les” N. Mueller on June 26, 1951. Also known as kelly, A nickname given to her by her father. Her husband Leslie was famous for giving nicknames, and would refer to her as his “sweet baby doll” or “sweet Mary.” Being called Mom or Grandma was one of the best ways of describing her. She was known for her hard work in so many ways. Homemaking was her art. Gardening vegetables and flowers was one of her summertime loves. In the wintertime you could find her sewing or working on her crafts. She was known for baking buns and canning pickles. Everyone could count on a good meal when you headed to the farm. Wrapping the weekend up with “ a beer and a bun” and laughing and visiting with one another became a tradition. Outside of her home she worked for over 30 years packing apples at Oakwood Fruit farm. She was always ready to give a helping hand with the church ladies to assist, when there were times of need. She is survived by her 8 children, Diane (Jim) Heiar of Richland Center, Rod (Colleen) Mueller of Hillpoint, Marge (Dave) Brock of Richland Center, Dale (Diane) Mueller of Hillpoint, Steve (Kelly) Mueller of Hillpoint, Stan (Michelle) Mueller of Hillpoint, Julie (Rick) Pine of Gotham, Joyce (Clint) Silvers of Fitchburg; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Arlene Louis of Ithaca, Agatha “Sis” Neefe of Bear Valley; a brother-in-law, Virgil (Sondra) Mueller of Keyesville; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson, Luke Heiar; 5 brothers, Alois, Ray, Vic, Bill, and Cletus Gruber; and a young sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Keyesville. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM and also on Friday at church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
