Kenneth R. Kanable

Kenneth R. Kanable: 88 years old of Antioch, IL and Richland Center, WI passed away peacefully Friday, October 13, 2017, at the Village at Victory Lakes, Lindenhurst, IL. He was born December 6, 1928, in Viola, WI the son of the late Elzie and Verla (Ewing) Kanable, living in Richland Center, WI, Grayslake, IL, and Antioch, IL. Before his retirement in 1991, Ken began his working career milking cows at Wright Way Farms, Grayslake, IL, and later working for International Harvester for over 20 years. After retirement, Ken drove school bus for St. Peter School, Antioch for nine years. He enjoyed: raising sheep and steer, golfing, playing cards, and square dancing with Janice for over 25 years. On July 10, 1950, he married Janice Janney in Richland Center, WI. Survivors include: his wife of 67 years Janice; three children: James Richard Kanable of Antioch, IL, Lyle Joseph (Chris) Kanable of Lindenhurst, IL, and Peggy Lynn Kanable of Antioch, IL; five grandchildren: Jimmy (Tonya) Kanable, Carrie (James) Helgerson, Betty Neustedt, Ashley (Matt) Bock, and Danny; step-grandchildren: David, Jeff, Heather, and Morgan; five great-grandchildren: Tony, Tanner, Arika, Alison, and Ryan; three step-great-grandchildren: Jakub, Ayden, and Makayla; three siblings: Junior Turner of Richland Center, WI, Bob (Winnie) Turner of West Bend, WI, and Lucille (Don) Dyke of Reedsburg, WI; in-laws Joan Stalsberg of Portland, OR, Cori Janney of Goose Creek, SC, Judy (Bob) Jewett of Wausaukee, WI, Lea Turner and Violet Turner both of Richland Center, WI; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his step-father Earl Turner, siblings: Jerry, George, Glen, and DuWayne; and in-laws: Jim (Clara) Janney, LaVerne Stalsberg, and John Janney Ken’s family would like to thank Advocate Hospice for their care and compassion shown during Ken’s final weeks. Memorial Services will be held at 1PM on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home 26777 Jelland Dr. Richland Center, WI 53581, with visitation beginning at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are appreciated in Ken’s memory.
