John Robert Lord

John R. Lord, 82, of Richland Center, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 13, 2023. He was born on August 17, 1940, in Lime Ridge, WI, the son of Carl and Marie (Burke) Lord. John graduated from Riverdale Highschool in 1958. After high school, he served in the United States Airforce and then worked at Gisholt Foundry in Madison, WI. He married Jean Ferebee on May 4, 1963, in Muscoda, WI, and they had four children. Together, they moved to Peshtigo, WI, for his work and Jean passed away on January 9, 1987. Later John married Mary “Kathy” Marbes in 1988 and became stepfather to Kathy’s three children. When John and Kathy retired, they moved to Richland Center, WI, in 2005. After retirement, John was active with St. Mary’s Catholic Church (Keyesville), Back Road Express Riders, and the Ithaca Lions Club. Survivors include his 4 children, Lea (Rick) Scott of Appleton, Evan Lord of Richland Center, Beth Lord of Ithaca, Lisa (Duane) Koshuta of Janesville; a special foster son, Steve (Julie) Borman of Sun Prairie; 3 step-children, Karen Goings of Amity, OR, Kris (Tim) Colston of Battle Creek, MI, Kelly (Jason) Friedrich of Sheridan, OR; 5 brothers, Larry (Val) Lord of Lacon, IL, Joe (Janice) Lord of Richland Center, WI, Phil Lord of Madison, WI, Tom (Debbie) Lord of Richland Center, WI, Chuck (Lenice) Lord of Blue River, WI; sister-in-law, Charlotte Lord of West Bend, WI; granddaughter, Heather (John) Polcin; 2 grandsons, Tyler and Evan Koshuta; 8 great-grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Jean Ferebee Lord; second wife, Mary “Kathy” Lord; a brother, James Lord; and a sister-in-law, Lucy Lord. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Keyesville, WI. Friends may call on Thursday at church from 9 AM until the time of services. Private military honors will be held later at Basswood Cemetery in Eagle Township.
