Myrna Evelyn Huschka

Myrna Evelyn Huschka of Richland Center, WI passed away on November 6, 2023, at the Richland Hospital. She was born on October 15, 1950, near Walker, IA to Kenneth & Rosalea (Townsend) McVey. She and her parents moved to Wisconsin in 1961 where she then finished grade school and high school at North Crawford School in Gays Mills. Myrna married Allen Lee Huschka on November 30, 1968, at United Methodist Church in Viroqua. They lived in Prairie du Chien for 10 years where all 3 of their children were born. Al worked at WPRE radio during those years and Myrna was a full-time homemaker, enjoying her children’s preschool years. She and Al moved their family to Richland Center in 1979 where Al worked at WRCO radio for 36 years as a sales rep and recording commercials. Myrna very much enjoyed running an in-home Day Care for most of the years her children were going to school. Also, she worked for 8 years as an assistant manager at Fashion Bug in Richland Center. Myrna always enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her 2 daughters and sons, and welcomed their spouses to the family as they each got married. Her 5 granddaughters and two great-grandsons added so much joy to her life. Her hobbies were embroidery and quilting, scrapbooking and making cards for special occasions. She also enjoyed baking special desserts for her family on the holidays. Plus she made special meals when her whole family came home! Al and Myrna took their family on many vacations to Chetek over the years. They enjoyed renting a cabin and did a lot of fishing & sightseeing. The 2 of them still went to Chetek often even when their kids were grown! Mark and his family sometimes joined them there. She is survived by her husband Al of 54 years; 3 children, Cathy (Brent) Smith of Portage, WI, Mark (Martha) Huschka of Shakopee, MN, & Gina (Bryan) Bethke of Ionia, MI; also 5 granddaughters, Crystal (Ben) Dewsnap of Portage, WI, Carolyn and Colleen Smith of Portage, WI, Addison & Lauren Huschka of Shakopee, MN; two great-grandsons, Caleb Smith and Bentley Dewsnap of Portage, WI; 1 sister, Maxine Hekel of Park Rapids, MN; 2 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law, many nieces and nephews. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Marvin McVey and Wayne McVey; sister, Doris Rawson; 2 brothers-in-law, Bob Hekel and Orlie Rawson; and a nephew, Jim Hekel. A Celebration of Myrna’s Life will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 1:00 PM, at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center, WI.
