Elsie Ann Snorek

Elsie Ann Snorek left us peacefully at her home, with her family by her side on Monday, August 17, 2015 at the age of 100 years 11 months. She was born on September 23, 1914 to Frank and Emma (Levy) Nachtigal in Richland County, Wisconsin. She married Emil Snorek on September 16, 1931 in Richland Center and they farmed until moving to Madison in 1953. She loved her children and grandchildren. She was noted for her chocolate chip cookies and homemade noodles. If you left her place hungry, that was your own fault. She retired from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in September 1979. She liked to shop and take short car trips. She is survived by her two daughters, Joann Seymour and Janice Schuetz both of Fitchburg, son Gary (Shelby) Snorek of West Plains, MO; three grandsons Darrell (Bobbie) Snorek of Rockford, IL, Kevin (Brenda Sanford) Seymour of Sun Prairie, WI, Duane (Kim) Snorek of Danbury, WI; Seven Great Grandchildren, Marley (Richard) McAdams of Fl, Marshal (Allysa) Seymour of Atlanta, GA, Jackson Snorek of Rockford, IL, Madison Snorek or Rockford, IL, Sean Snorek or Minot, ND, Alicia Snorek or Danbury, WI, Riley Snorek of Danbury, WI; and three great great Grandchildren, Annastyn and Landon Seymour of Atlanta, GA, Richard McAdams Jr. of Florida and several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Emil, daughter Shirley, her parents, grandsons Scotty and Bradly Snorek, sister Bessie (Martin) Kolash, two brothers, Ernest and Adolph, Two son in laws Lloyd Schultz and Kenneth Seymour and Several sister in laws and brother in laws. The family would like to give special thanks to Agrace Hospice Care and especially Sharon, Sara, Cheryl and Shannon also Sharon for sitting with her on Thursdays, and the girls and Bright Star for all their kindness and support. A Celebration of life for Elsie will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center, with Rev. Joyce Palmer officiating. Luncheon will follow at the funeral home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Champion Valley Cemetery.
