James Jim Packard

July 2, 1936 - November 19, 2011

James "Jim" L. Packard, age 75, of Gotham died suddenly on Saturday, November 19, 2011 while deer hunting. He was born on July 2, 1936 in Lakewood, Wisconsin the son of James & Anne (Newcomb) Packard. Jim married Roberta "Bobbie" J. Liska on May 5, 1973 in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Jim joined the United States Marine Corps during the end of the Korean War where he was proud to serve his country. After working many years in the Insurance business, Jim retired to Richland Center eleven years ago. He then starting working at his new job he loved dearly at Richland Family Prescription Center delivering medicine to local residents. Jim always had a smile and wherever he went people instantly liked him. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling, cars, rummaging and had a passion for woodcarving. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage and was a handyman. Survivors include his wife Bobbie Packard of Gotham; children Scott (Melissa) Kaufmann of Dousman, WI, Shellie (Nick) Schroeder of Ixonia, WI, Kristine (David) Dominick of Watertown, WI, Matthew Packard of Watertown, WI, James (friend Cindy) Packard Jr. of Neshkoro, WI, Kathy (Jerry) Anich of Mukwonago, WI, Kris Shea of Dousman, WI, TJ (Kelly) Packard of Pell Lake, WI; grandchildren Jennifer, Andrew, Ben, Kyle, Nolan, Jacob, Robert, Leah, Stacy, Beau, Michael, Angela, Peter, Andy, Caroline, Dennis, Eric, Autumn, Amanda, Brandon, Calista, and Lilly; his mother Anne Packard of Menominee Falls, WI, brothers Douglas (Jan) Packard of Menominee Falls and David (Ruth) Packard of Rome, WI, brother-in-laws, Dennis (Donna) Brandt of Gotham, Thom (Margaret) Engles of Portage, WI, good friends John Snyder of Reesville, WI, Debbie Ferguson of Gotham, nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 5:00 PM at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center with Pastor Craig Peach officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 22, 2011 at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM. The Local Military's Honor Unit will provide private family military graveside rites on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 3:00 PM at the Button Cemetery in Richland County.
