John M. Miller

September 13, 1978 - July 2, 2021

John M. Miller passed away on July 2, 2021, at the age of 42, the result of a plane crash while on a mission trip in the country of Haiti. John, the oldest of eight children, was born in New York state to Moses and Mary Miller on September 13, 1978. On May 20, 1999 he married the love of his life, Saloma Hostetler, and they shared 22 wonderful years and seven children together. John loved and cherished his wife, adored his five daughters, and loved mentoring and working alongside his two sons. John was known for his gracious compassion to the weak and suffering, his steadfast resolve to stand for the truth no matter what it cost him, and above all his unwavering loyalty to Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Saloma; his seven children: David (19), Chrissie (18), Barbara (15), Ella (12), Martha (10), Marie (8), and Lydia Rose (4). He is also survived by his parents and four brothers and two sisters: Henry Miller (Martha), Chashton, WI; Daniel Miller, Georgia; Eli Miller (Susan), Kentucky; Ella Byler (Sam), WY; Andrew Miller (Anna), Coloma, WI; Sarah Mast (Danny), Chaseburg, WI, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his brother David Miller, and his grandparents. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. 10:00AM at Lighthouse Chapel in Richland Center, with Steve Simmons officiating. Visitation will be held at on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM the same day. Burial will be held at the Debello Cemetery in Hillsboro, WI .
