Robert Curtis "Curt" Stowell, age 70, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at home in Yuba surrounded by his family. Curt was born on June 29, 1942 the second child of Robert "Bob" & Anna (Beranek) Stowell. Curt attended Henrietta School near Yuba & later attended Richland Center High School. In 1963 Curt joined the United States Air Force & was stationed at Kinchloe, Air Force Base in Northern Michigan. He married Bridget Connors, from Rural Cazenovia, and remained in the Air Force serving 19 months in Guam during the Vietnam War. He took his basic training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas and later advanced training as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist in Denver, Colorado. After the Air Force, Curt & Bridget farmed his parent's farm in Yuba and were the proud parents of four children. He then married Marilyn Novy Marx. In 2001, Curt married Janice (Muller) Segebrecht. They lived in the Village of Yuba until his death. Curt is survived by his wife Janice of Yuba; daughter Bobbi Jo (John) Hora of Hillsboro, son Dan (Sandi) Stowell of Wonewoc, son Kelly (Mary) Stowell of Richland Center, daughter Jill "Wormy" (Brian) Hora of Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; a sister Barbara (Bill) Sanders of N. Kansas City, MO; a brother Douglas (Dorothy) Stowell of Hiawatha, Iowa. Further survived by step children Deb (Verlyn) Clark of Hillsboro, Michael Levy of Wilton, Laurie (Mario) Valencia of La Farge, Terri (Scott) Rosenthal of Camp Douglas, Mark Levy of Richland Center, Ed (Jan) Levy of Hillsboro; 18 step grandchildren & 3 step great grandchildren. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Richland Center American Legion & the Hillsboro VFW in the Czech National Cemetery near Yuba. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home from 4 PM to 8 PM & also on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of services.
