Edna Carlen

Edna D. Carlen, age 95, of Lone Rock died Thursday October 11, 2012 at the Richland Hospital. She was born September 16, 1917 in Vernon County the daughter of Allan & Lela (Mason) Sidie. Edna was baptized and attended Lower Lights Sunday School Zion Lutheran Church. She married Oscar W. Myhre on August 5, 1933 & they had 5 children together. She left Vernon County & moved to Beloit, Wisconsin where she worked at Freemon Shoe Factory for five years. During which time she met Robert Carlen they married December 14, 1957 and moved to Durand, Illinois. They farmed 25 years then moved to their farm in Winnebago, Illinois for a brief time. In 1990 they moved to Lone Rock, Wisconsin. Robert & Edna traveled extensively and spent 15 winters in Phoenix and made many new friends. She was a member of the Moose and Eagle Club and attended the Lone Rock Congregational Church. Survivors include four children: Lorraine Coleman of Lone Rock, Robert E. (Rosemary) Myhre of Beloit, William L. Myhre of Edgerton, Sharron L. Burgess of Lone Rock; 10 grandchildren Donna (Jerry) Rossing of Lone Rock, Danny Coleman of Gotham, David (Jill) Coleman of Richland Center, Lori (Greg) McHone of Sextonville, Jody Myhre of Beloit, Billy (Jill) Myhre of Edgerton, Chris Myhre of Wausau, Mike Myhre of Janesville, Darcy (Jeff) Hackel of Fitchburg, Patty (Pat) Lomansney; 4 step grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren; four sisters Myrtle Partlow of Warren, Michigan, Lillian (Valdo) Geary of Viola, Joyce Agee of Beloit, Janet Thompson of Beloit; a sister-in-law Nellie Sidie of Viroqua; a Godchild Jessica White of Janesville & two foster boys Jeff & Paul White; other relatives & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Delores, husband Robert, 3 brothers Chancey, Gordon, and Leland Sidie; 4 sisters Beulah Sidie, Martha Johnson, Lavina DeLacy & Cleo Dunwalt. Funeral Services will be held on Monday October 15, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center. Burial will be held in the Lone Rock Cemetery with Pastor Craig Peach officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
